Farewell to I&J’s Brendan Jales

Brendan Jales, Human Resources Director at I&J has passed away.

“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of his passing. Brendan’s contributions to our industry have been great and exceptional. He served as Chairman of the Bargaining Council for the fishing industry, Chairman of the fishing industry employers association, SAFIEO, was an active alternate member of SADSTIA for I&J and was an executive member of SAFIEO,” said Innocent Dwayi, SADSTIA Chairman. “Brendan’s legacy will forever be cherished and appreciated,”

“On a personal note, I had the privilege of working closely with Brendan for more than five years. He was not only a gentleman but also a true professional in every sense. His presence will be deeply missed,” Dwayi added.

A seasoned human resources executive with over 20 years of strategic leadership experience across industries such as mining, manufacturing and fast moving consumer goods, Brendan excelled in optimising HR functions, strategic planning and aligning organisational goals with business priorities. His expertise included industrial relations, talent management and driving workforce performance. He was deeply committed to diversity, inclusion and cultural transformation.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to Brendan’s family and the team at I&J during this difficult time,” Dwayi said.
