In 2024, the South African Deep-Sea Trawling Industry Association celebrated its half-century, a laudable achievement for any member-based organization. In this brochure, SADSTIA proudly reflects on the central role the Association has played in the development and management of the South African fishing industry.
The artwork featured in the anniversary brochure was produced by Kimberlyn Greenwood, a Master of Science student at the University of Cape Town. The marine biologist and illustrator beautifully captures the deep-sea environment and some of the species exploited by the deep-sea trawl fishery. Ms Greenwood’s artwork is featured in the 50th anniversary brochure, a poster and in the awards presented to the individuals and companies that have contributed to the Association’s success over the past 50 years.
